The Academic Center strives to find the best ways to help each student be academically successful and reach his or her full potential. The center provides instruction for students identified as needing extra support with fundamental skills in language arts. It also provides instruction for students requiring advancement or enrichment beyond the rigorous classroom curriculum. The Academic Center Learning Specialists individually assess students in Lower and Middle School at the beginning of the school year. This information provides a baseline for the new school year and provides immediate feedback of each student’s strengths and weaknesses in language arts. Throughout the school year, academic growth is monitored to ensure success.
The Academic Center also works in conjunction with classroom teachers and parents to create an individual plan to meet the needs of students who may require additional support or specific accommodations to help them have a successful, positive learning experience.
