What is an Annual Fund?
An Annual Fund supports a school’s current fiscal year operating budget with funding for financial aid, faculty salaries and continuing education, lab and classroom equipment, as well as other maintenance and improvements for the campus.
Doesn't tuition cover these expenses?
Yes, but only partially. In independent schools, tuition normally covers about 80% of the cost of a child’s education. At St. Andrew’s, tuition covers an even lower percentage.
Why not just raise tuition?
If tuition were increased to cover all educational expenses, many families would be unable to send their children to St. Andrew’s. Gifts to the Annual Fund ensure that tuition remains affordable while still maintaining the high level of quality associated with a St. Andrew’s Academy education. Also, contributions to the Annual Fund are fully tax-deductible, while tuition is not. Students are the priority at St. Andrew’s, and we do not want any qualified student to be unable to attend because of cost.
